New York City's parade pays tribute to those who have served in the United States armed forces with marching bands, proud displays of the American flag and more than 100,000 spectators and participants. Originally conceived as a celebration of the armistice ending World War I, the holiday has come to honor all US war veterans and express continued hope for world peace.

Agreed...I have a few friends and some family in the Armed Forces...and I pray for their safety and I know I take for granted the job that they do...because to be honest, I wouldn't do it...soo..thank you Veterans.
