These are absolutely AWESOME photos! I love the mood they convey. BTW, the year is 1978, just FYI. It's absolutely amazing how different NYC is today, from when these photos were taken.

Wow, did you take these yourself? I recognize a few of the corners. NYC has changed less in the last thirty years than most cities in the U.S., and a few of those photos could have been taken recently (but only a few!).

Bravo, fantastic photos! :hi: :good:

It reminds me of classic 1970's NYC movies, like Across 110th Street, Serpico, and one of my favorites, The French Connection.

Thanks for sharing!

I see Cheech and Chong Up in Smoke on one of the billboards. That movie was released in 1978.

Great shots, I could look at these all day. Interesting the WTC made not a single appearance. I could identify the locations of all of these but a few. One is definitely not Manhattan at all. At first I thought it might be downtown Brooklyn, or maybe Newark. But the "Rue St. Jacques O" street sign and the "Metro" sign were a dead giveaway it's not anywhere in NYC! A little Google search reveals it's Montreal. Thanks for posting!
