I have always been afraid to fly, or rather don't like it. But when I heard about the one that came down in Buffalo, now I am almost terrofied about the thought of getting on a plane! AM I being unsensible?

I share your fear and though it may seem that I am making light of of my terror of flying, believe me, I am scared shitless.
Cat C is the worst you can get for parachute jumps. Guess who got 3 of them?
My fear of heights is renown. I am not a coward but I don't even like being 5 foot eight inches. Just wish the council will build these pavemenets closer to my arse.
Anyway, a bit of advice :-
After you have walked around the plane and kicked the tyres etc.
Insist on a seat at the rear of the plane. You never hear of one backing into a mountain.
The *Black Box* is actually bright orange. I would advise you to sit on it.
At least yer arse will get a decent burial.
Please take this in a light mood ? Have a laugh. I fly often all across the globe and it's the safest way to travel.

I think your fear is reasonable flying is unatrual and something birds do. I think you reflect a commonsense notion about the world we live in. People who like flying dont do well at school and have few friends. Flying is taken too seriously and is a mode of transport vastly overated. Trains and coaches offer scenic views. However I do like air hostesses who smile at you.

As our Paddy says,,,, Birds don't fly at night and they have been around for thousands of years. They must know something ?
