Although I can completely bypass the E train on the way home, today curiousity got the better of me and I decided to see why it takes that train so long to get to Jamaica Center from the city.

I boarded the train at the WTC station, and it left at approximately 5:28 PM this evening.

Was surprised that a lot of people got off on 42nd Street and there was seats for everyone...wasn't surprised when we sat at Fifth Avenue for over twenty minutes!!! Once we got to Lexington, the train filled up like a slave ship, and proceeded to move like a rickshaw

The coup d'etat came at Forest Hills/71 Avenue @ 6:44 PM, a full sixteen minutes after it was due at Jamaica Center, on a bad day, and the conductor whispered that the E train would be running down the F line to 179th Street, a common practice when those transit workers want to screw you over.

Of course, I asked the conductor why the change, and since there's no accountability, he ignored me

Miraculously, another E train came shortly afterwards...and since it was not slave ship full, I can see why they changed the E I was on into an F <_<

A Mussolini for Mayor campaign is sounding good right now, at least he ran the trains on time

15 years ago it took the E train roughly 50 minutes to go from Jamaica Center to the World Trade Center, it now takes at least that long to go from Jamaica Center to 42nd Street...today we had an added bonus though---the heat was on!!!

Heat on at this time? ouch. there noone you can complain i guess, just on the internet. friend of mine got into an accident with NY bus and they never paid for the damage and it was drivers fault. they busted his fathers jaguar tail light and its still broken after 10 years lol.

Yeah, the MTA doesn't have a complaint department, so i hope this little thread will be that place where everyone comes to vent their MTA horror stories...then maybe someone will listen???

IF they really want the MTA to work correctly though, should turn it over to Wal-mart :laugh3:

I hope so. I doubt that MTA officials check Internet for complains. But it would nice to have a place where people can complain.

Of course they don't...but maybe some enterprising investigative reporter will

Then they'd be able to solve mysteries like when's an E train NOT an E train.

Last night it took me 2 1/2 hours to get home from 59th Street!!! [It takes me an hour and fifteen minutes to get to work!!!]

The usual three F trains roll by as you wait for an E @ Forest Hills (including the one i took to get there). An E comes and i hop on it---the conductor is WHISPERING something...and i KNOW it's that the E train will be running down the F line, but since it's about 120 degrees on the platform, ride it to Union Turnpike for the A/C.

Veterans of the subway system know that the P.A. system works fine when it's last stop...but for some strange reason it's always half a decibel when they're announcing some B.S.

When i eventually make it to Jamaica Center i catch a Q5 [#5036] which takes off in a frenzy because the driver deduces that i'm the first in the wave of slaveshipped E-train passengers, and she was right. It goes to 231st & Merrick, and there may be 20 people on the bus, tops. In the 17 minutes i wait @ 231st Street there are 4 buses sceduled, only one shows up...3 trains and FIVE buses to get home

Guys, just for you... I just opened new category NYC Feedback. Feel free to write any feedback you want. Major Bloomberg is doing some sort of offline snailmail survey. It got sent to random people and nobody can see the results. In here we can make our feedback heard.

It's not just the E-train, but the E-train is the worse

Subway hint: How do you tell which cars have heat in the summer?
They're always the cars with a few people on them...most people make the mistake of running down the platform to get in these cars

Saw four E trains with heat ON, as opposed to air conditioning OFF yesterday---and as a messenger i travel the subways more than most.

Let's see how long THIS stays up on the MTA's lackey site

At my job this morning we had heat blasting at max! Just because some lady wanted to get "toasty".

Ladies and Gentlemen...After an earlier incident trains are running at a lower speed...THEY even programmed the trains to LIE :megashock:

So the Straphagers.org sycophants were right about US getting the new trains on the "E" line, but guess what---THOSE trains are now slower than they were 30 years ago!!!

TOOK almost an hour to go from Lexington Avenue to Jamaica Center tonite...if Mayor-for-life Blomberg can run for an unconstitutional third term, looks like we need Ed Koch to come out of retirement B)

And put Bernie Goetz as head of the MTA ;)

Time to vote ALL these fools out

Last night you'd have thought it was a "Day of Outrage" as the line for the N4 stretched all the way to the Q4 @ Jamaica Center...but it was just business as usual :angry2:

Being one of the new buses, there was that annoying robotic announcement--Please do not stand by the door--all throughout the trip...gonna pack buses like slaveships the MTA better find a way to turn those suckers off :biggrin2:
